Background
Scrum was developed in 1993 by Jeff Sutherland and colleagues at Easel Corporation, Burlington, Massachusetts; influenced by The New, New Product Development Game (1986) and Wicked Problems, Righteous Solutions (1990) Scrum was first presented to a public audience by Ken Schwaber at the OOPSLA Conference, 1995 in Austin, Texas. The first Scrum book, written by Ken Schwaber and Mike Beedle was published in 2002, and the first official Scrum Guide, written by Schwaber & Sutherland was published in 2010.The Current Guide
The guide has since been updated several times by the same authors. The latest version dated November 2020 is available as a hyperlinked web page at scrumguides.org. This document is considered by most practitioners to be the definitive guide to Scrum: the rules of the game.
